It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our good friend and seaplane pilot extraordinaire, Mark Futch. Mark was well known throughout southwestern Florida for having operated his own seaplane business, Boca Grande Seaplane, for many years throughout the islands of Captiva, Sanibel and Gasparilla, as well as the Florida Keys. Mark supported his love of aviation as the captain of his beloved fishing vessel, Sitarah, working as a fishing guide for well over 40 years. Fishing came naturally to him as he was the descendant of generations of fisherman who helped settle Boca Grande. Mark was one of those rare people who became a legend in two worlds and he will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest condolences to Kathy and family. ... See MoreSee Less

Sorry to hear of his passing, what a special character he had. I was happy to have met him.

I’m heartbroken. Kathy if you see this I am thinking of you constantly.
